sitcom and mentorship
I started working on a new script, this time for a sitcom pilot. I’ve spent so long trying to get that 45-minute drama pilot into a sendable state that I’m now finding it hard to plot something out that’s half the length. Once I start typing the individual scenes from beginning to end, I’m sure it will come as naturally as the drama did, though I’ll probably have to work harder on the individual lines of dialogue, since readers/viewers will expect characters to say funny things.
Yesterday I wrote a movie review for an indie sci-fi film called S.I.N. Theory. I’ll post the link as soon as the editors publish it. I’m also doing some story editing for a young writer working on a short film script. She’s hoping to get a grant, and I’m sure she will. The concept and characters are nifty.
