Currently powering through rewrites of a couple of short stories and the novel I wrote last year. It got a bit kitchen-sinky when I wrote it, and even though I started with a detailed outline, I still added everything that popped into my head.
I dropped a short story at the library, to be read and critiqued by the writer-in-residence. We’ll see what happens with that.
I have been watching the new fall tv shows as if it were homework, which I suppose it is. This winter, I plan to do write a couple of spec scripts based on existing new series, for my portfolio, and that will get me one step closer to having a screenwriter’s agent.
A certain logic tells me that I should stick with one type of writing for a while, but the path I currently follow is the spaghetti test. Throw some spaghetti at the wall, see what sticks. If novels stick, or short stories, or articles, or feature screenplays or television writing sticks, any of those would be fantastic.
